Default Fan won't stop cycling. kill the power?
Model Number: 911.455881   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years

I ran the cleaning mode. It cleaned fine then the door would not stop locking and unlocking itself and the fan under the cook top keeps cycling .. oh .. every minute or less.

I disconnected one of the leads to the module on top of the door lock. Now I can bake for Christmas, but the fan keeps cycling.

The module is brittle and I think not making good connections. I pop the breaker when not using the unit.

Does that fan run outside of the cleaning mode?

I was thinking of disconnecting the power to the fan until I can order a replacement for that module.

Is that OK?

Would I be better off just disconnecting the whole module on the door lock unit to get through the holidays? I am hosting Christmas!

Default

FYI .. once the oven completed baking the first item it went BACK TO NORMAL OPERATIONS. Displays are correct, the fan is not on and all is well.

I never plan on using the auto clean function again. It freaks out the unit every time!
