Maytag gas range model MGR5750ADW. Ignition takes several minutes and after ignition, flame goes out but gas flow continues. Suggestion on problem part.

Slow ignition is most often caused by a 'weak' oven ignitor.

Is the ignitor still glowing? The oven valve should only remain open while the ignitor is glowing. If the glowing stops but gas it still being released, the there may be a problem with the oven gas valve.

How about if the ignitor is glowing but the gas will not come on? Does that mean the valve is shot? Same model oven.
