Model Number: J331 Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
My old GE electric range needs a new front burner. I ordered part no. WB30M2 based on the description on the part, but now that I have it, I'm not sure it's the correct part. It seems to be the opposite of the old one, when you look at the two "arms" that attach it to the range. Am I supposed to open up the plastic box to attach the new part? The repair manual you offer for GE ranges is out of stock. Thank you.

I don’t know how your old on is but the WB30M2 just plugs in. If you’re old one didn’t just pull out you got the wrong one.
Here are some pictures and descriptions of units that work with GE ranges GE Range Parts |

The range is probably 30 years old, or so. The old burner does not just plug in. I took it apart and found that the "arms" on the burner go into a plastic box. Inside the box there are two tiny bolts that have to be loosened for the old burner to come off. The new burner (obviously the wrong one) has no extensions to go to those bolts. What part do I need? Other that the arms not ending correctly, the old burner and the new burner look a lot alike. Thank you.

The wiring is connected directly to the element terminals with screws (which should be included with the replacement element along with the terminal cover insulator).
