Exclamation How to get to the panel
Model Number: ??   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years   

My Kenmore stove is from .. oh .. 1988 .. the control panel is receeding. It still works .. but is receding. I need to get the front off to see how/if it can be fixed.

... Oh and .. I am hosting Christmas this year .. they begin arriving on the 22nd! Help!

Gene, Thank you for the reply. I got that problem licked and now:

I ran the cleaning mode and the door would not stop locking and unlocking itself and the fan under the cook top keeps cycling .. oh .. every minute or less.

I disconnected one of the leads to the module on top of the door lock. Now I can bake for Christmas, but the fan keeps cycling.

Does that fan run outside of the cleaning mode?

I was thinking of disconnecting the power to the fan until I can order a replacement for that module.

Is that OK?

The unit is a Kenmore 911.455881.

I hope to be able to nurse it through Christmas then I can replace the module that I think is bad.
