Model Number: 30-3982 Brand: Tappan Age: 5 - 10 years
My tappan oven is lazy in at times and I have found it requires a tap with a rolling pin in the regulator to get it to fire.
When I set the dial I'll get a little gas smell and the ignitor lights but sometime I must slamm the door or tap the regulator. Lately its been slowing during cooking as well. Seem to be dueing the cold months but may not be the case. I had the ignitor replaced about 2 years ago and the oven is used in a normal fashion. ignitor or regulator? George |

if the top burners work ok, it shouldnt be a regulator problem... really should check amperage of the ignitor and possibly could be the electric valve that opens up to allow gas to the bake burner ..
