I've read through the forums to kinda get a clue about my particular problem. The broiler functions fine, the bake function does not. After 30 sec, I can see a glow through the vents on the oven bottom, but I do not hear the flow of gas nor is it producing heat.

Up until last night, (when my wife showed concern that we'd have to eat out), the oven would heat up on bake, but the time to preheat got longer and longer.

I believe the problem is due to a faulty oven igniter, even though there is a glow it is not allowing the gas through to light. I may or may not be correct about this.

Moreover, I am unsure how to remove the oven bottom to inspect the burner assembly. I've gone over the oven/base diagram supplied here on the site, I cannot release the clips in the back of the oven base. Is there a trick or tool that I need?

Any information provided is greatly appreciated.

replace the hot surface ignitor ... it is a relatively quick, easy, painless, and somewhat inexpensive repair ...

Thanks Jim, I'll look into getting that part right away.

My second question is about the oven floor. Do I go about this from inside the oven or from underneath? The oven floor does move, though I do not want to break it. Any tips?

Thanks again.

Got it figured out. And I order the part. I'll post something more when the part arrives.
