Model Number: fef 366 csf Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
Was using cooktop burners and broiler element during a thunderstorm- Heard a loud pop (almost like a light bulb blowing but much louder)- The control panel went blank. The circuit breaker tripped. After reseting the circuit breaker, the control panel came on, the cooktop burners also worked, but the broil and bake elements do not work.
Can you help and tell me how to repair this problem. Thank you. Ads By Google Related Models |

Most likely the control board (aka a clock) has gone bad. It has to be replaced together with the overlay because it's glued to the clock.
- The part number for the clock is AP3561834 - The part number for the overlay is AP2126498 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG FEF366CSF | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

After resetting the circuit breaker, the clock and all the functions work including the timer. When I select bake or broil on the clock face, I actually hear it click on as it always did. But the broiler element nor the bake element actually ignite. Is it possible you misunderstood my problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

There are three relays on the control board which are providing the power to the Bake and Broil heating elements. One of them is common for both elements (first power leg) and one of two others controls the second power leg to the Bake or Broil element depending on which mode you choose. The click you've heard is probably from one of those two relays, but the common relay does not work. In order for the heating element to come "on" there must be both power legs coming to the element.

I tried to use the broiler tonight and it never heated, so I tried the oven and the digital display stayed on "pre" aka preheat. I haved checked all leads, elements, and circuit breaker. The last time I used it was before a large storm and the lights went out while I was baking. Meal was done, so I never noticed if the bake element came back on. Now I venture to think it never came back on. Is there any way to check a digital eoc regarding the bake/broil elements?
Plus I'd like to cook for the 4th!! |

Most likely the problem is a bad control board. Especially if there is no proper voltage to the oven heating elements.
If you need the correct part number for the control board, post the color of the keypad. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RF114PXSB3 30" ELECTRIC FREESTANDING STANDARD CLEAN RANGE | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
