Model Number: FeFll77Ash Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
After turning on my oven it oven made a real loud bang and now it won't work. I have taken out the elements and they aren't discolored or cracked. It made such a loud bang I thought I had put some metal in the microwave. Any ideas????

Do the top elements work? If they do then check the oven elements (Bake & Broil) for continuity. Post the results.
The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it. Gene.

Model #FEFL77ASH Fridgidaire purchased in 03...glass top convection oven....clock and all burners work.... when you touch bake, it lights up that the oven is on and preheat lights up but the oven doesn't heat...we took the back off of the stove and do not see where there has been any type of fire flash or damage.....we have taken the elements out of the stove (didn't check if the broiler worked before we took them out) and on one of the elements, right where it plugs into the oven, there is a section about an inch long that is blue ..it is only on one side......does this mean it is burned out????it is not chipped, cracked or warped....would an element make the circuit breaker trip??? Does a burned out element make that loud of a bang????

You have to have a simple multimeter to check both heating elements. Otherwise you will have to replace them as well as the control board because all these parts are in question.

You are absolutely right. If there is no power to the oven elements then the problem is a bad control board aka a clock. Appliance Parts Pros price for this part is $147.89 and you probably have to buy a new overlay ($18.91) because it's glued to the clock. Your decision should be based on the condition of the range, price for a new one and how the chef likes it.
- The part number for the clock is AP3764682 - The part number for the overlay is AP2126498 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG FEFL77ASH | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Here is the weird part....the clock works.... and so do all of the top burners ....the oven and preheat light comes on too....so that is why I am hesitant to buy a 150.00 part that might not fix everything..I have put the oven elements back on. Do you think it will be safe to cook on the top burners?

2. Yes, you can use them. The top burners are not connected to the clock and the oven. Gene.

The oven element itself does not come on but the clock does and it works and so does the preheat oven lights. Would the clock continue to work? I just hate to spend a couple hundred bucks and it still not work. I don't have the knowledge to change out the board so I will have to call a repairman. You don't think a mouse could have gotten in there and chewed some wiring do you?? The reason I ask is when that oven went out it made the loudest boom...I guess I am a little scared of it now. We have had a mouse problem this year because of the drought. You have been so helpful!!! I really appreciate it a lot. I am trying to at least know what the repairman is talking about and you have schooled me well.

This is pretty standard and not complicated range. If your concern is a broken (or chewed) wires then turn the power for the range "off", pull it out of the wall, remove the back cover and inspect the wires from the oven heating elements to the control board. They all are pretty visible.
If there is nothing wrong then the correction is to replace the control board. If you do know how to handle a simple tools, I believe you can do it yourself and save some $$$. When you remove the rear cover from the control panel, you gain access to the control board. Remove the screws mounting the old control board and install the new one. Remove the wires from the old control board (one at a time) and connect them to the new one. All terminals are marked and if you'll do it careful you should be good. Gene.
