I have searched previous threads about this subject on this site. Our oven made a funny noise, some blue smoke when I opened the door. Removed bottom hidden bake element, it was burnt through on the right (facing oven) side. I purchased a new element and installed it. Plugged stove in, set clock, set a bake temp, and nothing happens. The lights for bake, pre-heat work, the element just never get hot. This is a Canadian purchased product, but they said the element was a Kenmore, Frigidaire, part #316413800. Could something else have gone the same time as element? Control board? Is there something you have to reset, after element burns up? Wires for element are snug, and put on exactly as they came off? What are the odds of the new element being bad?
