Bake element heats but broiler will not heat. Have checked line voltage, 240v; element impedance, 17-20 ohms; voltage at element, 120v. What other possibilities can be checked? The rest of the range is operating. How do I confirm that the expensive electronic control board is at fault? Please help!:eek:

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GR563LXSQ1 30" ELECTRIC CERAN FREESTANDING RANGE SELF CLEAN OVEN | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

On the wiring diagram you will see a thermal fuse in the broiler circuit perhaps this is blown. I think Item 9 in Section 3 of the parts.
File Attachment(s):
GR563.pdf (162kb) downloaded 14 time(s).

Thank you for responding! I have checked what I believe is the thermal fuse; a brown plastic/ceramic rectangle about 1" long onthe back of the oven. The wiring colors are correct on the schematic you included; this fuse has good continuity. Thank you for including the wiring diagram! Is it possible to be the rtd?:rolleyes:

Should not be the RTD as the bake element would also not work.

Sounds like the control board is toast.

It should be fairly straight forward.

If you have a problem with static electricity in your house ground your self before starting. If you have copper plumbing then just grab a copper pipe under the sink for a couple seconds and that should get your body to Neutral.
