Metal grill containing grease filter which is attached to roof top by 4 spacers/posts - detached at two points (in front) and hanging. Needs to be fixed.
I have a Farberware Convection Turbo Oven 460. Inside the cavity over the fan is attached to the roof of the oven a metal "grill" in the center of which and right under the fan is a "grease filter." The problem is that this metal grill is attached at 4 points to the roof of the oven with spacers, little aluminum posts less than an inch in size. How they are attached to the rooftop I don't know, but the front two have detached, leaving the metal grate hanging as the oven cooks. I want to fix this. I removed one spacer by unscrewing it and saw that the screw does not go all the way thru the spacer and into the top of the oven. What do I do to fix it. I have some alumnium spacers, even hollow ones, same size, and I have screws. I tried to insert the screw thru the post and into the tiny hold in the top of the roof and the screw fell out. Please help me. Tell me what to do and or buy. I assume the way to go is a screw but am I supposed to use an adhesive? an epoxy? Signed, Lost
