Where do I find the model number on an Amana Cooktop (Elect), black four burner with center downdraft vent. I looked underneath and found only the wiring diagram.
Problem, One of the larger burners is either very hot or barely low. I think it is probably a thermostat problem and I'd like to fix it myself. Are they simple enough for a handyman like me? I usually fix things to the very end of an appliance's life.
Believe me, we've burnt enough food!!:mad:

Most likely the problem is a bad infinite switch for this burner. The model number should be inside the cabinet.
