Model Number: RBD305PDS14 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Weird problem after the weird storm that knocked the Cowboys Bubble facility last week the stome hit my area about 20 minutes before all my lights went out but everything came back on except my oven none of the keypad buttons work no time clock no oven lights just dead I checked the breakers and all were fine. I am wondering if this spike damaged my control panel?? Does anyone else have any tips or tricks to get this unit back on?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RBD305PDS14 | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/docs/...%208302068.pdf If you just looked at the breakers try turning them off/on slowly a couple times. Breakers can drop out without actually tripping. Next would be to check at the unit with a meter to confirm that it is getting the correct voltage. Next it could be the Control Thermal Fuse is blown. Unplug the unit, remove the fuse and check it with a meter. Should be 0 ohms. BE CAREFUL 240 volts is lethal !!!

I checked for main breaker looks lfine and is pumping 240 to the oven. After looking at your tech sheet the one in the oven differs a little this one does not have a control panel fuse. Will the thermal shutdown fuse also cause the over to show absolute NO POWER? I tapped off the control board with my meter and I am getting 240 going into the xformer part of the control board now I am starting to assume that it looks to be a bad control board. I still have no display no light nothing at all What do you think?? |

Do not think I can be of much help here.
Double check your Model Number. Note there is always the possibility that the Model Number tag is incorrect. I looked up the board you received and it is the same as the one shown on AppliancePartsPros so I assume it is the correct one for the listed model. Check the keypad on AppliancePartsPros, is it the same as yours? Is yours a single or double oven? I did look up the tech sheets with a RBD305 prefix and did find some with a different control board but it still did not exactly match yours. The below is for a RBD305PDQ1 Tech Sheet https://www.servicematters.com/docs/...%204450808.pdf APP's parts breakdown Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RBD305PDQ1 | AppliancePartsPros.com You said you see 240 volts at the transformer on the board, this seems to indicate that you do not have the external transformer which is shown on the tech sheet for your listed model. The board will not run without this as it powers the electronics, I think!! On other point I noticed on your earlier post you said you had the 240 volts but did you also have the 120 volts which is also required. If Neutral has dropped out then you will not get the 120. I am also going to post this in the tech section with a little luck someone has run into this situation.

I'm afraid there is something wrong with these parts. The old board shown on the picture has a low voltage transformer and the new one does not. The wiring diagram for the model number RBD305PDS14 shows the low voltage transformer outside the control board. There is no way the manufacturer made such serious changes. You have to verify everything and repost the information.
