Default Infinite switch and fan switch
Model Number: FDU185   Brand: Modern Maid   Age: More than 10 years

My Modern Maid downdraft range/oven blew first the fan switch and then (after a new fan switch was installed) the adjacent infinite switch (also new). I opened up the stove and found the relay behind the grille element was broken - the button exercised by the metal lever was permanently pushed in - and the cleaning element relays were blown to the extent the top metal blade electrical contacts were melted off. What is the probability that replacing these relays (and switches) will fix the problem, and what else should I look for besides a new stove? Could the fan motor be drawing too much current and overloading the switches and relays? Thanks in advance for any advice.
