Model Number: RS696PXGB0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
This unit is a drop in with a glass cook top. The wife punched the bake button on the panel the other day and instead of the computer showing BAKE with a preheat setting of 350 degrees, the display showed BROIL with a setting of 500 degrees. The BAKE function does not work at all. I pulled the bake element out and it does have continuity with an ohm meter. I turned the oven on SELF CLEAN and only the broil element gets cherry red. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Most likely the problem with your range is a bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool sold it as a control panel assembly. It comes in two colors: white and black. The part number for the white control panel is AP3030830 and the part number for the black control panel is AP3030832 Here are the break down diagrams for Whirlpool range Model RS696PXGB0 Good luck. Gene. |
