Unhappy DACOR ERROR L60 - Lower Fan Bad??
Model Number: MOV230s   Brand: Dacor   Age: 1 - 5 years

Does anyone have any info on this error code and how to fix it? I have a 14 month old Dacor Double oven wall mount- "Top 'o the line" so they told me --$5700 worth... Anyway, I NEVER use the bottom oven. Maybe once in the entire 14 months that I've owned this beast. This Thanksgiving dinner was at my place and I when I tried to fire the bottom oven up, it won't work! L60 is what the display says. I found ONE reference to this code online - Lower Cooling Fan failure. HuH! I won't even ask how that could be with only one use in the past year, but how convenient that the unit is now 2 months out of warranty and I've got Christmas Dinner to prepare for 20 people.

HELP!!

Yes, the error code L60 means a lower oven cooling fan failure.

The complete description of the problem and solutions you can find in the service manual (page 12).

Most likely the problem is just blocked air flow and you would not have to replace any parts, but just in case:

- The part number for the cooling fan AP4087095

To find out the right part number for the relay board I need the serial number of the oven.

Default Reset error code - Harm to oven?

Thanks for your rapid response. I have another question or two..

In speaking with the Dacor folks they gave me the reset code so that I can continue to use the top oven (Control+Secure+#, S1234). It worked!

Now when I activate the bottom oven it heats, but the fan does not spin AND the display tells me to "close the door" even tho it is shut.

Q1) Will I harm the oven if I continue to use the upper unit?

Q2) How do I diagnose a bad relay board? (cant find the serial number on the oven, but the sticker on the front of the manual says MOV230S*V-C-06090415)

Q3) How can I access the full Service Manual so I can utilize the "Service Screens" as described in the Service manual?

I'm pretty handy with electrical so I'm sure I can handle the replace/repair as long as I have your forum to hold my hand.

(1) I do not think if you continue to use the upper oven will cause any damages to the lower one.

(2) The name plate with the model and the serial numbers is behind the upper door latch access panel. You can read it through the vents.
The diagnostic procedure described in the service manual, posted previously.

(3) You can find the information about "Service Screens" in the second part of the service manual, but you have to have a Service ID # in order to use it with your oven.
