I have a GE Oven the bake element will not heat up, I checked the element and it has around 16.8 ohms. the Clock, stove top and the broiler work fine. any thoughts?

[FONT='Times New Roman']Make sure there are no broken wires. Then make sure the element is not grounded out to do this remove disconnect the power for range. Then disconnect the terminals from the element and see if there is continuity between either terminals to ground. It should be open (no continuity) if not replace the element. If there are no broken wires and the element isn’t grounded out the main control (clock) is bad. Oven Repair Guide[/FONT]
