Smile Electrolux "5F" error message

This just happened to my 2008 Electrolux slide in range with Wave Control. I found a posting on "FixYa.com", and a solution that worked!

Simply press the + and - (Plus and Minus) - keys on the bottom of the numeric keypad simultaneously for 3 seconds. This resets the display panel for the range top to the factory default settings. Then reset the clock per the user manual, and you should be OK. Caused by temperatures on the glass top falling outside of the ranges expected by the display controls, and the control shuts itself off until it is reset to the factory defaults. In our case, a guest put a hot pot on the glass top straddling three burners. Oh well...

The service technician we called didn't know of this fix, and I can't find it on other posts; but it saved me $650 because I didn't have to replace the stove top display board.

Post if this works for you please.

Hold down the + and - (plus and minus) buttons on the bottom of the numeric keypad for 3 to 5 seconds. The displays will reset to the factory default setting, and your are back in business
