Two days ago the right front burner stopped working on our GE Profile (TrueTemp) oven. This electric oven is 11 years old. I lifted the range and found a wire hanging where it should be plugged into the element. Looks to me that the male end of the element piece melted away and left the wire hanging suspended (there was a dust-like material under the element).

Can I simply replace the element haliant or am I dealing with a potential fire hazard in the future. The burners and stove have always worked fine in the past, although the back burners don't seem to have ever heated up as hot as the right front burner (the one with the problem). Is it worth putting money into an 11 year old oven or should I buy a new one? I'm not sure how long electric ovens last.

Thanks

Replacing the element and probably the wire terminal should solve the problem.

The part is not very expensive and I believe it is worth to fix it compare to the price for a new one.
