Default Oven failure F1 after self cleaning
Model Number: MER 5870 AAW   Brand: Maytag   Age: 5 - 10 years

My Maytag convection oven quit working after the last self cleaning. The display shows F1 code. The cook top works fine which is manual switches. I would greatly appreciate your advice. Jeremy

Most likely the problem is a bad control board (aka clock).

- The part number for the clock with the black overlay AP3455541

- The part number for the clock with the white overlay AP3455542

- The part number for the clock with the almond overlay AP3503361

- The part number for the clock with the biscuit overlay AP3461121

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag range Model MER5870AAW

Thank you Gene for the info. I will get a new board with your supplied numbers. I actually have another question. This ECM went down immediately after performing the self-clean function. Should we not use this in the future?
Thanks again!
Jeremy

I do not think the problem with the control board caused by the self clean. Next time you'll use it make sure the cooling fan is running.

Gene.

Default self clean

I do not remember hearing any fan on self clean. Is it subtle? I am used to hearing the convection fan. I have not had an oven for 1 1\2 years now. When I replace the ECM I will not ever self clean this thing again. I would never buy a Maytag product again in my lifetime. I have had other Maytag appliances which I paid premium money for and have been plagued with multiple high cost breakdowns. Just my experience.
Thanks Gene
Jeremy
