Whirlpool Oven Element Bad?
Model Number: RF315PXXN0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
-While making dinner the other night I noticed that the Bake Element was not hot. Top element works fine. I have ordered a replacement Bake Element do you think it could be anything else?

Well, theoretically...: Your oven bake element is controlled by the thermostat and the selector switch. So either one could be bad. Element needs 220 volts to operate, it has two wires with each wire carrying 110 volts, one of the wires may have disconnected from the element. The most common problem is the bake element itself though. Sometimes you can spot the damage and sometimes you can't. Bake element can be checked for continuity/resistance with an ohmmeter.
Do you see any damage on the coil of the element? DO NOT FORGET TO turn off the power to the oven before replacing the element or performing any repairs and troubleshooting. Let us know what you find.
