Model Number: 64HN-4TKVW Brand: Magic Chef Age: More than 10 years
The digital read-out indicates F2. The fault codes indicate that this may mean the oven is too hot. In this case, the oven was not even on at all. The stovetop burners were previously on, but the F2 came up about 15 minutes after the burners were shut off.
Oven and burners seem to work fine otherwise. What to do? |

The first thing I would check is the oven sensor.
Unplug the sensor harness and check the resistance. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. Replace the sensor if it's wrong reading. Check wires from the sensor to the control board. If there is nothing wrong, replace the control board (aka clock). - The part number for the oven sensor AP2042837 To find out the right part number for the control board I need the complete serial number of the range. - Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model 64HN-4TKVW Gene.

thank you gene for your information. I called Magic Chef to get parts and to confirm what the error codes meant. They confirmed the possible problems, but would not elaborate, and could not sell me that parts. Not only does appliancepartspros have the parts, but they have advice. Thank you for being availabe.
