Default Bosch description & part number HBN442 Convection Bake Element
Model Number: HBN442   Brand: Bosch   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

Would someone please give a specific visual description WITH PART NUMBERS of the HBN442 elements? I have had no experience, so need the full description.

HBN442

1) The round element in the back around the fan (with two electrodes) is called what? WHAT PART NUMBER? What does it do: Convection Bake; Convection Roast; or simple oven?

2) The complex element on the top with (four electrodes shaped like a backward '3') is called what? WHAT PART NUMBER? What does it do: Convection Bake; Convection Roast; or simple oven?

Since there is no digram on line, is the diagram for the Bosch HBN642 the same?

I much appreciate any help. We don'tlive close to a service area.

You have duplicated your question in a few threads. It does not make any good for you and for us. It was answered here: BOSCH Convection Oven

Default BOSCH HBN442 Convection Bake Element

Thanks Gene for the good advice. I noticed that the replacement coil is substantially thicker than original. The burned out coil was twisted and burned through.

Turns out there is a gasket between coil mount bracket and back of stove. I had some wood stove door gasket, and used a bit of that.

Good Forum.

I am trying to replace that same circular convection element. It has three prongs, and there are 3 wires: blue, green, white/black. Unfortunately they slipped off the old one before I could make a note, so no idea which one goes where. Any help much appreciated.

Thank you.

According to the color code the green wire is always ground.

Thanks very much Gene. I thought that was probably the case, but was nervous anyway. I tested with a current tester and green is definitely the non-live wire. So, I assume green goes to the middle terminal? And the other two it doesn't matter which side?

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Paul

OMG, I'm still alive, the town's power grid still seems to be intact. I think it worked!

Thank you very much.
