Default Timer for GE double oven
Model Number: JKP36GOH1BG   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

My analog clock/timer died on my GE double built-in oven. I ordered the replacement part WB19X10006 and installed it. The only problem I have is that the bottom oven will no longer clean. The SET light comes on; the CLEANING light comes on. But TEMP light does not come on; LOCKED does not come on; and oven never starts heating. The top oven works as it should. Is there a setting on the new part that has not been addressed for a built-in double oven??? Can anyone help me get my appliance back in the A1 condition it was in before the clock went out?

Does this oven work in a timed cook mode?

If it does not, then possible a miswiring for the lower oven.

Gene, Thank you for your prompt reply.

The oven DOES work in timed mode.

Check the door latch and switches on the door latch.

Latch and door checked and are fine. By the way, this oven worked fine in all modes including self-cleaning prior to installation of this part.

In such situation possible you have the new clock defective.
You have to contact the place where you purchased from for a warranty replacement.

Gene,
Thank you for all of your responses. I have requested a new part and if it works, that will tell us that the 1st one I received is defective and I will be mailing that one back

when you will install the new one, be very careful with wires and follow the installation instructions step by step.

Default Timer replacement

Hi Carobe,
I am also trying to replace an old mechanical GE range timer/clock module. My old timer module is GE Model: 3AST51T170A1F. You mentioned that you bought a WB19X1006 as a replacement. Is this a Universal GE Digital Range Timer replacement for the old mechanical part?? Would appreciate a reply on this.

The WB19X1006 Digital Electronic Timer replaced the following: WB19X0142, WB19X5269, WB19X5231, WB19X5282, and WB19X5223. Based on that, it seems that this part would NOT be the replacement for your part. My oven is GE Model JKP36. As you saw by the threads, we did receive another part to determine if the first one was defective. It did the same thing - everything works EXCEPT cleaning the bottom oven. I finally called GE repair and a repair technician came out and spent 2 days - and could not solve the problem. This oven is 22 years old; well, the technicians have never seen this model nor the inner workings of it!!! He did consult a retired expert, who gave him a few suggestions, but to no avail. I tell you this because you may run into the same problem as far as the age of the technicians are today and the changes made in the product. Good Luck
