I have a GE Built in Double Oven.

A few years ago, I calibrated the temperature using a basic oven thermometer.

It has recently seemed too hot.

Today using a remote digital probe, I verified on a 250 degree pre heat, the oven temp spiked to 400 (the upper range of my digital thermo). The display registered current temp at 230.

I shut it off and let it settle back to about 300 deg. Then turned it back on requesting 250. Again, the temp spiked up to 400 (over range on my thermo).

I could attempt to calibrate again, but 170 deg differential seems a bit high.

What is probably off - the thermo probe? Here is a link to the parts for my oven that I found.
