Replaced circuit board, light and oven do not work

Whirlpool Supercapacity 465 free-standing gas oven.
The touchpad had been having trouble for over a year and I finally decided to replace it. The minute up and hour up buttons frequently did not work, nor did the Start button. Sometimes extra bits of the display lit up, that's when the Start button would not work. I removed the old circuit board, noticed that the replacement board had a different arrangement of the prongs, but they were labeled the same on the two boards so I plugged everything in according to the labels.
Turned the gas back on, plugged the stove back in. The display lit up without any extra bits. Set the clock. Tested the timer buttons. All good. Pressed the BAKE button and hit START. The display read the oven temperature, BAKE, and ON, but not HEAT--the preheat timer and the oven did not start. Tried the broiler, same thing. Opened the oven door, no light.
I replaced the oven ignition just a couple years ago, so that's not the problem. The range works, so the gas is fine. I considered switching the plugs around on the board for the BAKE and BROIL controls, but don't want to cause more troubles. Help! I love to cook and need my oven back.
