That unit has a "mechanical latch"

The handle could be loose or bent, or the thermal latch lock has failed in the locked position.

You could manually unlock the door using a coat hanger(straighten it out put a large hook in one end, insert it between the top of the door, and pull the hanger from right to left once the hook engages the latch hook on the mechanism, press in on the top of the door and tug on the hanger(it only takes 1/4 to 1/2 inch to release) and open the door. You'll need to raise the cooktop to access and remove or replace the latch assembly.
