The griddle on my Viking stopped working and thinking that the ignitor was the culprit, I purchased a replacement. But after I removed the griddle, I now wonder if there is another problem. I noticed three things upon inspection:

1) The old ignitor glows nice and bright.
2) There is a rupture in the burner tube adjacent to the ignitor.
3) The gas does not turn on after a good two to three minutes even though the ignitor glows bright.

I'm not sure what triggers the gas to flow but the device doesn't seem to be working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
