Oven door locks and cannot use oven. Have tried listed remedies, i.e.: "press and hold 9 and 0" or try turning off power for thirty seconds. Neither of these remedies fixed the problem.

This problem first came up about a year ago and the appliance service company said I needed a new control panel costing in excess of $800. Parts only! Was about to proceed when problem stopped on it's own. The problem is now back and checking with parts suppliers I find that the Clock/Control Panel price is about $250. However, adding up all of the prices in the parts diagram shown on the www.geapplianceparts.com site, they add up to about $870.

Do I need to replace everything or just the Clock/Control Panel? And, is this a do it yourself project?
