I have a GE Monogram Cooktop (Stainless) that is less than 3 months old, and the markings surrounding each knob are coming off. We do not use any abrasive or harsh chemical cleaners. Other than possible defect, the two possibilities I have suspected include the following: 1) The paint may be disolved by grease. 2)It may be a heat issue. The way the cooktop is designed, the closest knob gets very hot (almost too hot to touch). If the knob is getting hot, the stainless surface below it is probably getting very hot also. Could the paint be melting?
Thanks,
