Maytag Stove model, MER5730AAQ oven temperature is erratic, there are "no" fault codes up the temperature varies both high and low arround the setpoint, (way beyond 20 degrees). There would be two primary causes, the oven sensor or the control unit. Without a fault code there is no sure thing, (both the bake and the broil elements work). Is there some test on the oven sensor, (RTD or thermalcouple) or the control unit without taking a shot in the dark replacing one of the two parts?

Measure the oven sensor (#5 on the diagram) resistance. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. If there is nothing wrong then replace the control board.

- The part number for the oven sensor is AP4009009

- The part number for the control board is AP4009004

Here are the break down diagrams and Replacement parts for MAYTAG MER5730AAQ | AppliancePartsPros.com
