I have read where Kitchenaid and Whirlpool Wall Ovens malfunction as soon as you use the self-clean feature. We are thinking of buying a new wall oven and were interested in these brands because they fit our opening. I found the SERVICE POINTER K4317445 date Dec. 2008 indicating acknowlegment of this problem (I guess!)- but is it fixed? How do you guarantee you get an oven with the fix since the service announcement is only 4 months old?

The model number you posted (KEBS177S) is not listed in this Service pointer. That means they did not have such problem reported for this model.

Gene.
