I have a Kenmore M#790.95201103, manufactured by Frigidaire. Recently the top right front burner stopped working. No error codes were noticed. Everything else works perfectly. Would appreciate any tips of what might be wrong with the unit.

You have to open the control panel and lift up the glass panel and check the heating element and the switch for this burner. Post the results and we'll help you with the correct part numbers.

Each dial does 2 things (usually)

#1: it has a physical switch that turn the gas flow on and off

#2: it also controls how much gas flows to the burner

If it doesn't work at all, I bet the electrical switch that turns on the gas flow is bad. It usually plugs in right behind the dial.

you can test it by unplugging the two wires from the dial and touching them together. (make sure you unplug the stove from the main power first or you'll get a shock).

If when you plug the stove back in the burner works, than you know that it was a bad switch. If it still doesn't work, then it's something else.

Your advise is correct and very good if there is a gas stove. The range owned by Jms55 is electric.
