I have a second-hand Signature 2000 by Tappan (bought from Montgomery Wards). Last week I used the oven in the morning and then when I went to use it again in the evening, it would not heat up, despite being turned on for over an hour. My husband looked inside and the ignitor was glowing, but there was no pilot flame. He did try lighting the pilot with no success. The stovetop is still working.
We also have a secondary issue, though it's minor. The oven temperature is lower by 25 degrees. There are instructions in the manual on how to adjust this, but it claims that the oven control knob can be removed and we have been unable to do so.
We have already purchased a new range, but are having a garage sale at the end of August and if we can repair it cheaply, we would like to sell it.
