My oven/broiler won't work. Changed oven range control panel and oven ignitor. Still nothing happens. Need help soon. Thanks.

When pressing Bake then Start on the control panel, we hear a very faint tick, the timer is counting down, but the oven does not light/come on. When pressing Broiler then Start on the control panel, we hear a louder tick, then another tick but the broiler doesn't light/come on. We changed the electric range control panel/board and the oven ignitor and still we have the same the problem. Yesterday my husband read something about a solenoid may be defective which could cause both the oven and broiler to not work. This is the best I can do in describing the problem. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

The first thing your husband may want to check is the gas valve/pressure regulator (#15 on the diagram). You can find more useful information and instructions in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros...l-oven-wont-heat-up.html

- The gas valve/regulator Part number: AP3866825
Part number: AP3866825

I have the same problem with my electric oven (4 years old, Whirlpool Gold)...control panel was replaced about a year ago, now it doesn't work at all ~ the microwave mounted above it works just fine. Fourth repairman in four years for this oven said that it now needs another new control panel. Is there something a novice can do to truly fix this oven?

Which part did you call "control panel" - the front panel with a key pads and window or the electronic control board behind this panel?

What exactly ir wrong with the oven?

What is the complete model number of the oven?
