Default spark electro will not stop sparking
Model Number: jgp330em3bg   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

Dear expert

My cook top stove's spark electros will not stop sparking even though the gas flames are lid. I think there is a thermal couple that is bad. My guess is that the spark electrode is also the thermal couple that when it is heated to a threshold temperature will turn off the spark generator on the stove. Will replaceing the bad spark electode solve the problem.

Before replacing any parts visually inspect all burners and igniters.

The must be clean and dry. All burner caps must be in the right position and all burner igniters should not be bend. The ceramic insulation around the igniter should not be cracked or broken.

Post your findings.

Gene.

Yes, it could.

This igniter has to be replaced first.

- The part number for the burner igniter AP2020590
