have a broken aluminum tube at the burner dial connection. The replacement part contains the whole assembly for the left or right side. How do you get at the parts under the cooktop... from underneath or take the whole top off with the burners???

the burners are crimped right onto the top ... this problem started because thought the burner was bad but when I got it off by prying it up and then discovered the tubing was broke
