Hey guys!

First time poster! I was hoping someone could help me with my oven/microwave unit. I went to go heat up some coffee the other day and BOOM! The handle to my microwave came off in my hand!

SHOOT.

I've got a GE Dual Wave II, model number JKP62G0K2-BG. It came with my house and I'm ~fairly certain that my wife was not alive when it was made. In any case, the ol' girl (the oven, not my wife) is still heating and microwaving perfectly, except for this fly-off-the-handle issue. (Again, the oven, not my wife)

It appears that the screw holding the bottom of the handle worked its way loose, then the top plastic piece gave out and broke. I've examined the door and can't see an obvious way to take it apart to reattach the screws.

Does anyone have any experience and could lend a few tips?

This just happened to me as well. The inside door bezel (off-white plastic around the inside window) can be carefully pried off starting at the hinge area. It is only held by pawls. You can then attach the handle with the screws that are likely inside the door which you can now access.
