Model Number: RGB745 Brand: Hotpoint Age: 1 - 5 years
My stove igniter for the top burner won't spark on any of the burners but burner will light with a match, and when the oven is turned on it will only heat to 300 degrees

In order to fix the top burners you have to replace the spark module (#219 on the diagram).
In the regards of the oven problem I need more information from you. Does the Broil work good? How long time takes to get the oven to 300°F? Did you measure the oven temperature to compare it to the temperature shown on the display? The model number you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it. Gene.

I would first check your ignitor in the oven. The one in the bottom should be pulling a minimum amp draw of 2.8 amps to open the gas valve and ignite the flame. (The broil ignitor will be the same readings) It must hold at the minimum 2.8 amps to keep the valve open for gas. After that it appears that you have a sensor in the top of your oven cavity. That takes the temperature reading and sends the information back to the clock which will adjust for more or less heat. The sensor should read about 1100 ohms at room temperature (68* - 74*). You have to measure amps with an amp meter which will clamp around one the wires to the ignitor. You will use a multimeter on ohms scale for the sensor reading. Good luck.
