control transformer smoked, installed new transformer and it smoked. I have 120 volts from control to transformer but only .023 volts coming from transformer and should have 20 volts from transformer. What is causing the tranformer to short out? Any and all help is appreciated.

Sounds like you have a shirt on the control board.

Manufacturers do not publish control board schematics so cannot troubleshoot further.
Looks like the magnetron has it's own transformer so I doubt the microwave high voltage is causing a problem but cannot be 100% sure of this.
