The broiler element on my electric Amana oven won't heat. I replaced the broiler element, but that didn't solve the problem. The bake element works fine, it's just the broiler that won't heat. Any thoughts on what I need to do to repair? Many thanks!

Wdanb, First thing, unplug the power cord or turn the power off at the breaker, Remove the oven door and remove the element,(leave the wires attached to the element), and program a broil cycle and setting. with a multimeter set on a VAC setting, check for 220 to 240 VAC across the two terminals/wires on the element. *** If you disconnect the wires and terminals from the element, and check the voltage to chassis ground: The yellow wire should have a constant 120 VAC. The blue wire will have 120 VAC, only when the broil selection is made. No voltage on the yellow wire, would indicate a damaged wire between the two elements. No voltage on the blue wire, would indicate a damaged blue wire between the clock/control or a damaged relay on the clock. Part number: AP4279499
Good Luck, :) :) :)
