Thermadore Range Display and Oven Problem
Model Number: RDDS30V Brand: Thermador Age: 5 - 10 years
Hi,
We had a power surge today as a result of a winter storm (I was watching TV and the TV and the lights kind of dimmed a couple of times, making the TV go off once). When I went to check if any of my digital clocks in the kitchen needed to be reset, I discovered that the display to my Thermadore range was completely blank. The stove-top (Gas) works, and so does the pop-up vent (electric). Also, the light INSIDE of the oven works. Also, if I press the button for either "convection" or "bake" I hear a "click" which it normally does when it is turning on, but then it quickly "clicks" again when it can see that it is not about to get any power. We did try resetting the breaker, but unfortunately that was not the answer. Clearly, something controlling both the display panel and the oven going on was ruined (or maybe two somethings). Once before on my Thermador wall oven, after a self-clean the control panel was fried and I was able to order one online and replace it myself. Hopefully someone knows what we can do to fix our range this time.
I did more research and I think it might be the "Control Unit." Anyone know if this is right and if I can replace this myself?
Thanks, Michelle
