I have a Maytag gas range/oven. The broiler works fine. the gastop works fine. After replacing the oven igniter, I still glow to it. I took the back from the oven and found a loose wire. There are two terminals on the side of the gas valve that I can see. Yellow wire from the control panel is attached to the bottom of the gas valve. White from the control panel is attached to the top terminal and has a jumper leading to somewhere else which is loose. On the opposite side of the valve is a red wire that goes to the oven igniter connector. The other side of the igniter connector goes to a red wire that goes back to the harness that connects to the control panel. It appears as though a terminal was broken from the backside of the gas valve that might have been where the loose white wire goes. there is solder on the connector that appears broken Could this be where the wire went atone time? If so, could I try soldering the wire back or should I replace the valve?
