The display (clock, temp, etc.) vanished when the oven was turned on, reappeared when the oven was off, and then disappeared altogether. The oven still works well. The range is a gas range with an electric oven.

Could be something as simple as a bad connection on the clock.

Thank you for the answers, Gene and Appliancejunk. Where do I find the model number on the appliance ? I foiund the number 8114P527-60 on the inside of the oven door on the lower left side of the oven door below the 800 phone number. I got the svd 48600 number from the manual.
