Hi,

We have a electric cooktop range that is having an issue where the front right element only heats to a high level and will not back down when a lower level of heat is dialed in. This element is different than the other three in that it is a dual function element that heats an inner/outer coils.

I believe the control switch for this element is bad, but am confused with what I need to order. Is it an infinite switch or control switch? Are these referring to the same part? I found a part listed here that is called a dual element switch and I'm guessing that is what I need but I'd like to see if anyone has an opinion before I order it.

The dual element switch (AP4096023) would be the correct part. The switch is stuck in the high position and needs to be replaced. Pay attention to the wire placement on the existing switch when doing the replacement. The new switch may look different than the original and may come with a set of instructions to properly wire it in.
