Model Number: JTP11WS3WG Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
My GE oven JTP11WS 3WG does not reach the correct temperature. I have to set the oven on 500 degrees for example to get 350 degrees. The broiler seems to work okay. My question is most likely do I need to replace the probe part number AP2023256, the bottom element, or some electronic part? I am trying to avoid ordering the wrong part number as parts dept. explained that parts can not be returned once they have been tried as a fix so to speak. She suggested I come to forum to ask my question. Please advise. Also, any chance of a diagram or suggestions how to replace suggested item. Thank you. Paul

The first thing I would check is the oven temperature sensor resistance.
It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. If there is nothing wrong with the oven temperature sensor, then the control board has to be replaced. Unfortunately this part is no longer available. Gene.
