Am I crazy only seeing one element in my stove near the top. Is the Bake Element and the Broil Element all one piece. I thought it was but was getting confused when going to order one.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Your range uses a hidden bake element, meaning it is located under the oven cavity. This design makes for easier cleanup of spills, but requires extra work when it is in need of replacement. Hope this helps.

Thank you for that answer; although I am more than confused as I thought it was the one that was visible once you open the oven door. I guess that is the Broiler Element. Thanks

Yup, the broil element is on top and visible, the bake element is hidden and under the oven liner.

This might be dumb question...but, when I turn the Bake on (not Broil), why does the visible element that I can see get warm?
This all pertains to another post I have going on this forum. I replaced the digital control panel and now the oven only warms to about 200 and that takes about 2 hours. Thanks

During preheat, your oven will turn on and cycle both elements to get the cavity up to temperature more evenly and quicker. If your oven is taking way to long to preheat, the cause is usually one of the elements no longer working. People are often tricked into thinking because there is heat when I open the door during a bake preheat, that the element must be working. If you replaced the control due to a low heat situation, then it may be time to go back and take a some measurements to get you going in the right direction.
