Hello! I was wondering if someone can help me out. I have a GE range that had a broken switch valve.. diagnosed by a repair man. He didn't have the part so he was kind enough to give me the part number and showed me how to replace it. The valve that was broken was a single switch valve and he told me that they only make the double now. He said as long as I hook up the wires to the top or bottom of the new valve it will work.. but I'm having a problem. When I hook the wires up to the top portion of the switch valve the broken burner works perfectly.. but for some odd reason the gas burner on the left side of the stove begins to spark when knob is turned to the off position. Then when I try the bottom connector the igniter won't work at all. Does anyone know what's wrong?? Thanks!!!
