My Tappan Gas Range is not heating.
Background - last month or so the oven knob became hard to turn. Looking into this online someone suggested using a small amount of oil (WD-40) between the shaft and collar of the knob.
Prior to trying this a week or so ago I was testing the heat in the oven and it was lower than it should be. I recalibrated the knob but the knob remained hard to turn.
Now the oven is not heating.
I'm thinking this is a thermostat problem...would appreciate some advice prior to purchasing this rather expensive part. I know it might be an ignitor problem also.
Thanks for your assistance!
