My Dacor range has an electric oven and propane cooktop burners and broiler. The broiler has not worked properly for over 1 yr. When you try to start the broiler the glowing hot surface ignitor starts to glow and stays glowing but maybe in 1 of 10 times does the actual ceramic broiler ever receive the flame. After 15 minutes of continual glowing from the ignitor I usually turn off the broiler. I say usually cause the last time I forgot about it and when I remembered about it 1 1/2 hrs later the glowing hot surface ignitor had burned itself out. I know I need a new ignitor but does anyone know why the flame will not start. I did take it all apart and nothing is blocking the ceramic plate or the gas tubing. My guess is it seems whatever is supposed to send the flow of gas is not working. Thank You

I replaced the hot surface ignitor and it solved my problem. I found out as this part gets old it can sometimes not allow the correct amount of amps needed to flow thru it which will not allow the gas to start. Works perfectly again.
